Unobstructed

We can capture almost anything
with our naked eye
I wonder
what it would take to break
free of our filtered lens
to see the world as it is
and how it’s always been
behind the smoke and mirrors
lies we tell ourselves
and others
impervious to the synchronicity
before them, begging to be seen
and not just heard or heard
and not just seen?

We have no presence
of mind and body
let alone our souls
that rot away through our screens
of caffeinated fatigue that dry
our bones until we are brittle,
but if perchance we were to merely
look across, and observe
we might see the wonder that could be
unobstructed.
