A Blockchain Voting System

Watching a live stream of parliament can feel helpless at times. A normal system consists of politicians taking an in house vote on matters leaving people feeling without a choice.

However, what if it were possible to allow people more authority and decision. If somehow the people could connect to the political mainframe and provide their opinion, able to vote on the exact matters they would otherwise be unavailable to vote on.

In a blockchain world, this is the most likely scenario. With the use of decentralised network technology. People would be able to provide their verdicts, opinions and votes on a network that isn’t owned or managed by anyone.

Furthermore, the connection would be instant. Peoples votes would be instantly stored on a decentralised platform, they would be counted and verified. Then once collected, it would be available for everyone to see the results.

This means that securely, from home, through the use of decentralised technology, we will be able to inform the world of our decisions when voting on political matters in a fashion that is immune to manipulation and corruption.

Decentralised voting gives us a solution to having a greater voice as one society. We don’t need to worry about any bias, corruption, hacking, manipulation or tampering of votes.

Blockchain voting could be quite possible the most transparent method of voting we can conceive.

What are your thoughts?

Would you be open to voting on more matters if more decisions were available to vote on?
